Safety

Tapani always puts the safety of the public, our project partners, and our employees first.

We partner with both Oregon OSHA and Washington Dept of Labor and Industries (L&I) annually to perform job site safety consultations and inspections.
Before starting work on a project, we perform a Job Hazard Analysis as well as a detailed Site Specific Safety Plan. This enables us to proactively identify and communicate potential hazards to the project and field teams.
We continually reward employees for good safety practices. We currently have a safety incentive reward program which focuses on company-wide safety as well as individual safety performance.

As a result of these measures:

Tapani has reduced our on-the-job accidents and injuries to an all time low which is reflected in our EMR rating (Labor & Industries Experience Modification Rating) of 0.73.
We have been recognized by city, county and state officials for our outstanding safety performance and leadership. Recently, Tapani was given a Commitment to Safety award from the City of Portland for work on a large, $4 million project.
