Safety

Tapani always puts the safety of the public, our project partners, and our employees first.

  • We partner with both Oregon OSHA and Washington Dept of Labor and Industries (L&I) annually to perform job site safety consultations and inspections.
  • Before starting work on a project, we perform a Job Hazard Analysis as well as a detailed Site Specific Safety Plan. This enables us to proactively identify and communicate potential hazards to the project and field teams.
  • We continually reward employees for good safety practices. We currently have a safety incentive reward program which focuses on company-wide safety as well as individual safety performance.

As a result of these measures:

  • Tapani has reduced our on-the-job accidents and injuries to an all time low which is reflected in our EMR rating (Labor & Industries Experience Modification Rating) of 0.73.
  • We have been recognized by city, county and state officials for our outstanding safety performance and leadership. Recently, Tapani was given a Commitment to Safety award from the City of Portland for work on a large, $4 million project.
